continuing adventures... in which the canadian cow wins all the things!
Sorry I have been so quiet but I have been posting a few blogs for the Horse Junkies United contest. So to recap.... after the schooling dressage show results I decided to enter the recognized shows in August because, well, we might be able to qualify for year end awards and the championship ride offs if we could get another Intro C score above 60% and a minimum of three more scores at two different shows. So, we went and Cinder won all the blue ribbons and high point Intro ride both days. It was awesome, she was very good until the second day when she was slightly cranky and wanted to GO HOME NOW! She's a had a nice break since the show and I finally sat on her this weekend..which was mostly walking and some grazing under saddle since I promised her we'd hack out if she did well at the show. Managed to get on Bug briefly Friday and Sunday since she has been on hiatis for almost two weeks while I got Cinder ready. Bug seems much more relaxed and happy since we reflocked her saddle and added the mattes pad, so this is good. However, we seem to have lost some of our forward and all of our round, so I will start working her back into both of those. Cinder will go back to work slowly this week as we prepare for the ride off. Still struggling with the decision to ride intro at this last show or to move up to training level. The canterwork is still not there, so we may save training level for next year. Hopefully, I will get a chance to lesson with her this month, but the trailer needs a new ramp, so we shall see.....
